Live Music Performances
Ray Flaherty
September 13th
Born and raised in Shattuck, Oklahoma, Ray Flaherty made the move to Stillwater in 2022 to start a new chapter in his life. Shortly after, he discovered some kindred spirits and formed his band, Ray & The High Rollers. Their personal blend of styles and influences has been fondly referred to as “Alt Dirt” and has earned them a place on many desirable stages, including Calf Fry with the wildly popular, Wyatt Flores.

Ray was touched by the music muse while watching his uncle’s band, and his uncle went on to put him on the path to singer-songwriter when he taught him his first chords. While admittedly not having a similar sound, Jim Croce was one of the first to inspire Ray to start writing songs of his own. His writing has evolved with the discovery other influences like the The Brook & The Bluff, a band who wrote the song “Halfway Up” that Ray and his Rollers made their own and will be releasing later this year.

Ray’s voice has distinct timbre and tone, powerful with a slight rasp and a natural vibrato that is quick to capture even the most discerning listener. The recent release of “Bones” in July has given way to an even wider audience that have all become enamored with the vocal warmth that is held by the, truly, matchless talent that is Ray Flaherty.
